Understand the solid-liquid separation process of the plate and frame filter press

Plate and frame filter press equipment is applied to solid-liquid separation treatment, turning the turbid filtrate into a clear liquid. What kind of path and process does the liquid go through in the filter press during this process? Let's follow the editor to find out.


First, the filtrate is pumped into the water inlet pipeline by the feed pump. The feed pump gradually increases the filtrate in the water inlet pipeline, enabling the filtrate to enter two water distribution pipelines under high pressure.

The water distribution pipelines are connected to two water inlet flanges above the plate and frame filter press. In this way, the filtrate enters two material distribution pipelines above the filter plates of the plate and frame filter press. The material distribution pipelines are formed by squeezing and splicing the filter plates one by one. On one side of each filter plate in the same direction, there are channels or grooves leading to the sunken part in the center of the filter plate. Thus, the filtrate in the material distribution pipeline of the filter plate is distributed into the filter chambers formed by each filter plate and a frame. In fact, it flows into the frame wrapped by two kinds of filter cloths and comes into contact with the filter cloth. Driven by strong pressure, the liquid in the filtrate will pass through the filter cloth. The filter cloth only allows the liquid to pass through, while the solids are intercepted and stored in the filter chamber.

When the liquid passes through the filter cloth, the solids are intercepted, achieving solid-liquid separation. At this time, the filtrate becomes clear and clean. Then, through the convergence of the water outlet pipelines below the filter plates, the water from different water outlet channels is collected together and flows out through the drainage valve of a single filter plate, discharging from the equipment.
